Scripture:
The Father, God of all comfort

Hebrews 6:17-20 “God, deciding to show more abundantly to the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath, that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation...”

The Holy Spirit, our Comforter and Helper
Acts 9:31 “Walking in the fear of the Lord and the
comfort of the Holy Spirit, they were multiplied.”
John 14:16,26 “And I will pray the Father, and he will give you another* Helper, [the Holy Spirit,] that he may abide with you forever.” *Implies that Jesus is also a helper or paraclete.
John 15:26, 16:7 “If I depart I will send the
Helperto you”
Romans 8:26 “The Spirit helps us in our weakness... makes intercession for us...”
Comment: Paraclete is a word sometimes used to refer to the Holy Spirit. This does not mean that the Holy Spirit is our only Paraclete. Rather he is the third paraclete. The Father and the Son also engage in comforting and helping us, as the above scriptures show.
