This page reports my voluntary ministry activities October to December 2012 —for the information of those who take a special interest in my work.
Dear Brethren... This report covers the fourth quarter of 2012.
During October,November, and December 2012, I presented 20 Sunday lessons in Bundaberg. These included 14 sermons and 6 Bible class studies in the 8th, and 9th chapters of Acts. We also visited the Maryborough church in December where I preached.
Six of the lessons preached at Bundaberg comprised a special series entitled "Listen to Jesus". These lessons, for the first three Sundays of November, concentrated on the words of Jesus.
As mentioned in previous reports, I am continuing to prepare verse by verse studies in the book of Acts. In this quarter I completed chapters 20 and 21. These lessons are online on simplybible.com and Sunday class at Bundaberg has now completed nine chapters.
Ten Years Online. On December 19, simplybible.com completed its tenth year online. It has been on the internet since December 19, 2002.
New Lessons. In the quarter, I added 16 lessons to the simplybible.com website. Six of these new lessons are the verse by verse studies in Acts, and another six were the "Listen to Jesus" sermons. I also added eight collections of slides. The whole simplybible.com website now includes 1195 study pages. The site has 1644 pages in total.
“Follow us on facebook.” The Facebook page facebook.com/simplybible continues to be updated. The number of "likes" at the end of December passed 200.
Behind the Scenes I continued improvements to optimise the website’s performance. Mostly these consisted of changes and additions to the automatic indexation of the site using SiFi, the site's own search facility.
Visitors to site. During the quarter the number of pageviews per day averaged 2406 in October, 2532 in November, 2285 in December (source: Awstats). Note that these statistics do not include robots crawling the site. I was pleased to see that, at last, Trend Micro is labelling simplybible.com pages as "safe" rather than "untested". Many internet users have Trend Micro on their computers and trust its site ratings.
Again I say a big thank you to the helpers who have encouraged me in my work. “Without you, I could not do it.”
Love and best wishes in Jesus, and may your new year be blessed and fruitful.
